Already the end of the 2023-2024 school year! You will be able to see or see again how rich it was in events and projects: sports, music, diplomas, vegetable garden, coding, carnival…
We are already in full preparation for next year and it looks very promising with in particular the opening of the European section but also the French-speaking world which will be the thread of this year 2024-2025. Until then, we wish you a pleasant and relaxing vacation.
Issue 12: March - April 2024
For the past month, we have begun each day with fifteen minutes of silent reading, conducted in French and in collaboration. This project, supported by motivated staff and the whole educational community, was immediately accepted by the pupils. Whether they are young readers or avid readers, they all gladly open a book of their choice to start their day. An assessment will be made of this scheme, but we are already seeing greater use of the CDI and BCD. Additionally, we are planning to establish a nursery school program to familiarise our youngest pupils with the pleasure of books. Enjoy reading this twelfth issue of LCDG Info!

Issue 11: January - February 2024
This period was notably filled with significant events for the school, including the certification renewal visit, the careers forum, the commencement of ADN-AEFE exchanges, mock exams, and the introduction of the new website… to name but a few.

The daily quarter-hour of reading will commence on March 25. From this date onwards, all pupils and staff at the school will start the day by reading for fifteen minutes a book of their choice in French. The objective is to cultivate a love for reading and ensure its availability to everyone. Until that time, enjoy your reading!

There has been a significant amount of activity in the beginning of 2023, as you can read. The fight against harassment has been the subject of specific sessions for delegates. With the end of the health restrictions, we have successfully reinstated school trips and the careers forum, and have reestablished our connections with the other international schools in Ankara.
Fallowing February 6, 2023, the entire Charles de Gaulle French School community mobilised to help the disaster victims. Once again, I would like to thank the parents, staff and pupils who have committed themselves and are continuing their solidarity actions. This momentum shows, if proof were needed, that we are indeed a French lycée in Türkiye, and the strength of the ties between our two countries.

We were finally able to accommodate staff members, parents and pupils without the significant health constraints experienced in the previous two school years. This has facilitated the establishment of a welcoming program for new pupils and staff member, as well as the opportunity to engage with parents during meetings with teachers and administrators. Currently our institution accommodates about 1,000 pupils from more than 30 different countries.
During this initial period, elections were held for parents, staff and pupils. The participation percentages are increasing consistently, indicating a growing trust in the governing body of the institution.
In September, many educational projects were launched, including as visits, film screenings, CROSS activities, sporting events and the Tara schooner expedition.…
