Sustainable Development
Encouraging pupils to engage with the United Nations’ 17 sustainable development goals by creating environmentally responsible projects that actively involve pupils, especially eco-delegates. Promoting the adoption of a sustainable development attitude and establishing collaborations with local actors dedicated to ecological and solidarity-based initiatives… All of the dimensions converge in a school that adopts a sustainable development strategy (E3D)… The AEFE aggressively promotes a strategy that has led to the creation of the “Établissement français à l’étranger en démarche de développement durable” (EFE3D) label.
The Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in Ankara received the level 1 label and is currently aiming to achieve the level 2 label in 2024. The eco-delegates, elected in all classes from CM1 upwards, are supported by Sustainable Development referents and work to set up projects such as: a day without lights, the installation of photovoltaic panels, the reduction of food waste, a solidarity week, tutoring between students…
As a component of the Earth Day celebrations, all secondary pupils delivered an English speech on the topic of “Planet vs Plastics”. A panel of five jurors was tasked with selecting the most exceptional speeches.
Please find the speeches of the 3 winners of “Earth Day Ambassador 2024”… Enjoy your listening.
