Our School
The Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle (LCDG) has an enrolment of around 1,000 pupils ranging from nursery to the Baccalauréat. The school is located in two sites (Ayranci and Incek), and provides a favourable and global atmosphere for every student to achieve success. The School boasts a diverse student body, with representatives from nearly 50 different nations.
The LCDG is officially recognised by the French Ministry of Education. The Baccalauréat acquired at LCDG provides pupils with the opportunity to continue their education internationally. (France, Türkiye, United Kingdom, United States…). Pupils have the option to participate in the Turkish Higher Education Recruitment Examination (ÖSS).
With its inception, starting with nursery, the LCDG staff has consistently demonstrated their dedication to providing unwavering support to every pupil, fostering confidence, kindness, and upholding high standards. The LCDG is a prestigious French international school that takes great pride in its accomplishments. It places a strong emphasis on the well-being and success of all individuals.
Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE)
The Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) was established in 1990 as a national public institution operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE). The primary goal of the AEFE, which is the educational operator of the MEAE, is to provide assistance, advocate for, and expand a school network that is unparalleled globally. By the commencement of the 2022 academic year, the educational network will consist of 566 schools located in 138 countries, providing education to both French and foreign pupils with the aim of cultivating enlightened individuals.
LCDG, Ankara is under the direct management of the AEFE
Directly managed schools refer to accredited educational institutions that are established as decentralised departments of the Agency for French Education Abroad. The organisation has a secondary authorising officer, who is the principal, as well as a secondary accountant. These entities are part of the public institution and their budget is combined annually with that of the AEFE. The agency provides subsidies and compensates the permanent workers employed there. Their budgets are created by the head teacher and the locally selected accounting manager. Afterwards, the proposal is submitted to the School Council and subsequently conveyed to the AEFE for approval by its Board of Directors.
An international pupil exchange program implemented in schools worldwide
Two pupils, two high schools, two countries, common experience… ADN-AEFE allows second-year pupils to participate in a school exchange program during the academic year at a different school. By fully immersing themselves in a new setting for an extended period of time, pupils enhance their educational experience while also enjoying the advantage of maintaining continuity in their learning.
A prestigious scholarship for advanced studies in France
The French government provides support for pupil mobility through Excellence-Major scholarships, administered by the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) and the MEAE (Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs). These fellowships provide opportunities for exceptional foreign Baccalauréat diploma holders from French high schools worldwide to do advanced studies in French higher education.
School, cultural and sporting projects with pupils from all over the world
The International Youth Games, budding ambassador’s debates, the Orchestra of the French secondary schools in the world, and various other AEFE initiatives facilitate the gathering of pupils from throughout the globe to participate in AEFE activities.
A responsive network of alumni around the world
The AGORA Monde is one of the tools shared by AEFE network schools for the benefit of their pupils: a collaborative tool based on a dynamic of exchanges between high school pupils, who are building their career plans, and young alumni engaged in their higher education studies.
Providing training to assist all members of the network staff
An essential objective of the AEFE is to provide continuous training for the staff employed in the international school network. The Agency implements an active training policy that significantly influences the quality of teaching and the appeal of schools.
